The Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority’s Universal Service Fund (USF) this week joined education experts and other key stakeholders in reviewing and validating the draft Grade 5 and Grade 6 syllabus under Malawi’s Competence-Based Curriculum.
The validation workshop, led by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Malawi Institute of Education, aims to strengthen the quality and inclusiveness of the national curriculum to meet the evolving needs of learners.
Opening the workshop, Principal Secretary for Administration in the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Thokozile Banda, underscored the importance of the exercise, describing it as a critical step towards developing a quality and inclusive curriculum. “Together, we are shaping the future of learning in Malawi,” she said.
USF’s participation reflects its commitment to supporting digital literacy and ensuring that learners are equipped with the knowledge and digital skills required to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven world. By contributing to curriculum development, USF continues to support national efforts to integrate technology into education and promote equitable access to quality learning opportunities.
